Town Clerk
MAIN TASK: the principal responsibility of the Town Clerk is to record deeds related to real estate transactions and to file vital records. The Town Clerk is also responsible for recording and filing the proceedings of the annual and special Town Meetings.
MEMBERSHIP: The Town Clerk is elected to a 3-year term.

In Barnard, recent tradition is that the Town Clerk also serves as Treasurer (3-year term), Tax Collector (1-year term), and Delinquent Tax Collector (1-year term), which are also elected positions. Diane Rainey currently holds all of these positions.
